International Guild of Realism
International Guild of Realism 15th Annual Juried Exhibition

At the Principle Gallery in Charleston, SC  |  October 2nd - October 31st, 2020

We are proud to announce that our 15th Annual IGOR Exhibition will be at the prestigious Principle Gallery in historic Charleston, SC. from October 2nd thru October 31st, 2020 with an opening night on Friday October 2nd. We were able to secure a peak month of October so the weather should be ideal. We have a first Friday opening so it should be busy all night. We anticipate to have multi-day art events with a group dinner, seminars, historic gallery walk and much more. We had an amazing 9th Annual IGOR Exhibition in Charleston back in 2014 so we are very excited to have another IGOR exhibition in this beautiful city. Please get busy creating new works for this important 15th Annual Exhibition at the beautiful Principle Gallery Charleston.

Charleston has been named by Conde Nast Traveler's the #1 City in the World and Travel & Leisure's named it the #2 Best City in the U.S. and Canada. Many have called Charleston “the Santa Fe of the East” since they are both historic cities filled with art galleries and high end restaurants! In a city filled with art, culture, and food, there is no better street in Charleston to have an International Realism Exhibition than on Meeting Street. The gallery is located in the historic French Quarter near the intersection of Meeting and Queen streets and they are proud a member of the Charleston Gallery Association.

Since we had amazing success with our three days of art events and other fun activities at our 14th Annual Exhibition in Alexandria, VA., we will again be offering several days of interesting art activities for attending IGOR members. We are planning to have an art seminar with noted guest speakers, a gallery tour of the best realism galleries in Charleston, a private invitation only dinner and much more. The public opening will be on Friday, October 2nd.

Selected Artists

The International Guild of Realism has recently completed the jury results for our upcoming 15th Annual Exhibition hosted by the Principle Gallery in Charleston, SC this fall.

The jury for this year’s exhibition was handled in two levels with IGOR Charter Members handling the first level, and then the owner and gallery director of the Principle Gallery completed the selection. Once again we received an amazing array of superb entries and our jurors were quite impressed with the quality and creativity of the work entered. Thank you, IGOR artists, for submitting such wonderful artwork.

The jurors, after reviewing the images over a few week period, made the difficult final selection. Deciding upon a limited number of paintings from an impressive array of entries wasn’t an easy task, and the jurors could not resist adding many more pieces to this exhibition than originally planned. Well over 40% of the entered artists made it through so please realize that you always have a good chance at being selected for a future IGOR event because of our small, juried only membership. We had artists from many countries enter this exhibition including Canada, Norway, USA, Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Sweden, Russia, Ukraine, Switzerland, Philippines, Mexico, Greece, Australia, France, Thailand, UK, Spain, Hong Kong and India. Plus we have a huge diversity of media in the exhibition including Acrylic, Watercolor, Oil, Soft Pastel, Colored Pencil, Graphite, Pastel, Ink, Tempera, Scratchboard, and Gouache.

Congratulations to this year's selected artists! The artwork submitted was exceptional (well over 475 entries). We look forward to seeing the originals at the Artist’s Reception this October. The exhibition will have 111 works by 107 IGOR members. Here is the final selection!

Opening Reception & Events

The Principle Gallery Charleston welcomes all IGOR Artists and their guests to attend the opening reception on the evening of Friday, October 2, 2020. We will also be having a seminar on current topics plus other art get-togethers for attendees. We plan to do something similar to what we did at our 14th Annual including a gourmet group dinner, a gallery tour, seminars and much more! There are excellent hotels and resorts in the Charleston area. As usual, we will send out a Travel Guide by email a few months before the opening reception. We will truly have a fun filled two or three days of numerous art related activities so we encourage as many IGOR members as possible to attend these events this October in beautiful Charleston whether you have been juried in the show or not.
