"Rendezvous in Charleston"
Opening Weekend of Events: November 5th - 7th, 2014
The International Guild of Realism had a wonderful week of art events celebrating the opening of our 9th Annual Exhibition at the beautiful Robert Lange Studios in historic Charleston, South Carolina. We enjoyed several events over a three day period with over 25 IGOR artists in attendance. The weather was sunny everyday and all events turned out as planned including our first ever sunset dinner cruise. The quality of the show was amazing and without a doubt, another astounding IGOR Annual Exhibition. The Robert Lange Studios is one of the highest rated galleries in the US and has been voted the best gallery in Charleston from 2010 to 2013. It's one of largest galleries in this historic city and has a beautiful museum style exhibition space. The paintings were hung beautifully and the lighting on every painting was perfect. Our host gallery was equally as thrilled with the quality of the show and they were grateful that so many IGOR artists attended the opening events.
On Wednesday evening, November 5th, we had a "Meet and Greet" cocktail reception at the rooftop bar of the grand Hotel Vendue in downtown Charleston with amazing views of the downtown and Charleston harbor! Thursday, November 6, from 4:00 to 8:30 pm, we had our first ever "Seminars, Sunset Blues and Barbecue Dinner Cruise" in beautiful Charleston Harbor. This amazing event featured seminars, a southern barbeque dinner, a wonderful blues band and amazing night time views of Charleston Harbor. Our main seminar was given by Camille Engel. She gave an informative talk on "The Importance of Artist Branding". Friday, November 7, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, Gallery Art Walk and Historic Tour of downtown Charleston by art docent of the Vendue Hotel, Alison Massari. Our guide gave us a grand tour of the best galleries in Charleston, as well as of historical sites along the way. We ended our three days of art events with our opening reception at Robert Lange Studios on Friday evening, November 7th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. The opening party was very well attended with over 500 patrons of the arts and everyone dressed beautifully for this gala evening. This special evening was a perfect way to end our third day of art events!
Video
IGOR has once again produced a short slide show video which includes several images from all of the special events including images taken during the opening. Thank you to all of the members and their guests who attended the events in Charleston and hopefully this video will bring back quite a few happy memories. For those of you who weren't able to attend or to be juried into the event, we hope that you will enjoy the video of the 9th Annual International Guild of Realism Exhibition. Thanks for your team spirit and we are glad that you came!
This new IGOR video has numerous still images that were taken during the three days. We have tried to include many of the artists, paintings, award winners, and shots of our many events in Charleston. Please feel free to add the link or embed the source code into your websites and send it out to your collector base, artist friends, and Facebook.
