IGOR 8th Annual Juried Exhibition

At the Tempe Center for the Arts in Tempe, AZ
October 4th - November 30th, 2013

"Rendezvous in Tempe"
Opening Weekend of Events: October 3rd - 5th, 2013

The International Guild of Realism had a wonderful weekend celebrating the opening of our 8th Annual Exhibition at the beautiful Tempe Center for the Arts in Tempe, Arizona. IGOR members enjoyed several events over a three day period with over 35 IGOR artists in attendance. The weather was sunny everyday and all events turned out as planned. The quality of the show was absolutely incredible and without a doubt, another astounding IGOR Annual Exhibition. The Tempe Center for the Arts was equally as thrilled with the quality of the show and they were grateful that so many IGOR artists attended the opening events. Numerous collectors attended both opening nights and several sales took place during the opening weekend of events!

IGOR added several formal events over a three-day period. On October 3rd, IGOR members met at the Scottsdale Artist School for a gourmet reception and a tour of their amazing art school. After our welcome meet and mingle, members toured the best galleries in downtown Scottsdale. This art walk was led by Charter Members, Donald Clapper and Vala Ola who both live in the Scottsdale area.

We had our busiest day on October 4th beginning with a five-hour art seminar with several noted guest speakers including Joshua Rose - Editor of American Art Collector magazine, Bill Rowett - Realism Art Collector, Leigh Ann Van Fossan - gallery coordinator in Beavercreek, CO. and Ed Copley - award-winning figurative painter. The seminar ended with an informative talk on "How to Land and Secure a Quality Gallery" by IGOR member, Camille Engel. The seminar was well attended with over 35 IGOR members and from all accounts, the members really enjoyed each of the speakers. It was wonderful to see so many IGOR members from around the world including Canada and all the way from Norway. Then at 5pm, we had a beautiful champagne toast in the gorgeous 201 lounge overlooking the Tempe Town Lake.

We ended our very long but amazing day on October 4th with our first ever VIP Private Opening Reception. It was very well attended and everyone dressed beautifully for this gala evening. Collectors and IGOR artists met in the lobby waiting patiently for the grand opening of our international exhibition. It was very exciting and when the doors swung opened, people started clapping and entered the TCA Gallery of Art on a red carpet. The gourmet food was provided by the award winning Santa Barbara catering company and drinks were flowing all night. This special evening was a perfect way to end our second day of art events!

The public opening was held on Saturday night, October 5th and was very well attended. Additional sales were made during the public opening!
