Opening Reception

"Rendezvous in Santa Fe" ~ Opening Weekend of Events: October 4th & 5th, 2018

The International Guild of Realism (IGOR) is proud to share highlights of our 13th Annual IGOR Exhibition. This year's exhibition is at the prestigious Sugarman-Peterson Gallery in beautiful Santa Fe, NM from October 5th through October 29th, 2018.

IGOR hosted several events for attendees and guests beginning on Thursday afternoon, October 4th with the IGOR Art Seminars at the historic First Presbyterian Church. We had several noted guest speakers including Michael Sugarman, owner of Sugarman Peterson Gallery; Oliver McRae, PH.D, Art Historian; John O'Hern, Columnist for American Art Collector Magazine: Ed Copley, Artist and owner of QC Fine Arts and Ron Gurule, owner of Artesano Frames.

Later in the evening, we had an amazing casual dinner party at the Blue Corn Café. This was a perfect way to round out our first day of art events in with over 60 artists and guests in attendance. This event included a full course of authentic Santa Fe cuisine!

On Friday, October 5th, we met at the Sugarman-Peterson Gallery, one block from the historic plaza, to enjoy a sneak preview of the show at 1:00 p.m. After meeting the gallery owners and staff, we took a walking tour of several of the best art galleries for a behind the scenes look at Santa Fe's art world which is one of the largest in the country. IGOR Charter Member, Donald Clapper, was the tour guide. We ended our tour on the famous Canyon Road filled with quality art galleries.

Our events culminated Friday evening with a wonderful reception by our hosts as we kicked off this year's exhibition. The opening party was packed all night and everyone was thrilled with the quality of this international realism show!

Selected Artists
The International Guild of Realism has recently completed the jury results for our upcoming 13th Annual Exhibition hosted by the Sugarman-Peterson Gallery. We had a huge number of paintings entered, and without a doubt, our highest level of quality artwork submitted. Thank you, IGOR artists for entering such wonderful artwork!

The final jury for this year's exhibition was handled by gallery owners Michael and Christie Sugarman. We received an amazing array of superb entries and our jurors were quite impressed with the quality and creativity of the work entered. Deciding upon a limited number of paintings/drawings wasn't an easy task, and the jurors could not resist adding many more pieces to this exhibition than originally planned.

Congratulations to this year's selected artists!
